And the 2012 London Olympic Mascots Are: Kang and Kodos!

Making fun of Olympic mascots is a time-honored tradition, but the good people behind the 2012 London Olympic mascots sure made it easy. Known as Wenlock and Mandeville, the two one-eyed ur-beasts charged with selling London Olympics swag and terrifying young tots sure do remind us of a certain pair of one-eyed Earth-conquering Simpsons Rigellians.

If you’re not getting the Kang and Kodos vibe, in the words of one of my officemates: “they look like Chernobyl Teletubbies.”

Surely this is the second time the London Olympics have a Simpsons connection.
The logo looks like Homer getting a bl*w job from Lisa!
