Way to be an @ h0le. Bear is a bigger man than you’ll ever be.

This guy teaches his viewers to do things that NO REAL SURVIVALIST would ever advocate. Things like drinking his own urine or blood from animals (both of which are worse than the dehydration) and drinking water from animal feces. Not to mention the fact that he fakes a good portion of his stunts because they are so dangerous (it’s almost funny to see him eat ripe fruit that he “found” out of season). I really hope that no one actually dies following his advice. His show is entertainment, and should not be billed as a survival instruction series.
I’m in no way saying that he is an idiot, but the he willingly deceives his audience on matters that could get them killed. I would have no problem with him if he where to drop the claim that he is an expert that is giving advice (and I’m not talking about a 3sec disclaimer before the show).

Bear is entertainment… I loved watching the show for a while, and while there are some fundamentals you can learn watching it, it is mostly for entertainment. I got bored with it though, because you can only go shoot in so many environments before it gets redundant.

I enjoyed Survivorman much more, Les taught the viewer a lot more about actual survival if they ever found themselves in a crappy situation. I learned a lot about salvaging from watching Les. There’s a reason it only lasted so long though, you can’t shoot in the same environments over and over!

His new cultural “documentary” show is pretty interesting, came out last year I believe.
