San Diego Comic-Con Unleashes Sneak Peak of the Glorious Return of Beavis And Butt-Head

Like South Park, MTV’s Beavis And Butt-Head launched its popularity simply by employing an offensive, over-the-top brand of humor; however, just like South Park, the show grew up with its audience and actually became quite clever without having to strictly resort to naughty words and loud noises, and eventually launched a decent movie that ended up being much classier than the show’s roots.

As seems to be the trend in modern times, comedy cartoons with a large, sometimes cult fanbases get canceled — multiple times, even — only to be revived years later. Though Beavis And Butt-Head didn’t quite go out in such a controversial way as, for instance, Family Guy did before its revival, the huge cult following of the pair’s antics definitely felt a little pang in their comedy souls when the show sent off the duo by having them kill their archnemesis and principal via heart attack simply by showing up to school. Creator Mike Judge went on to make King of the Hill, and though it was wildly popular and the main character was basically ripped off of a Beavis And Butt-Head regular, it wasn’t even close to the same kind of comedy. Luckily for us, Mike Judge has decided to go back to his roots, and revive Beavis And Butt-Head. A clip of the revival appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con this year, featuring what is probably the best way to reintroduce the show, the Great Cornholio. Pull your shirts up over your heads, grab some T.P. and watch the clip below.

Now that we’re all older, we can all appreciate the duo’s television-watching sessions.
