Fighting Robots Let You Rock, Sock in the Comfort of Your Own Home

Recommended Videos

For years, humans have sought a means to beat the ever loving crap out of each other with no consequences. Sock ‘Em Boppers weren’t satisfying enough, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots left us wanting. That’s why humanity created these boxing robots that you can ride around inside and punch each other with mechanical fists.

Powered by a Honda gas engine, the bots have a top speed of 3mph (a full mile per hour faster than a Dalek) and can support a human driver up to 300lbs. Using the pugilist capabilities provided by the robot’s dual punching arms, drivers can score points for hits landed on an opposing robot’s face. Even better, a successful headshot will send the struck robot’s head flying backwards. Sounds satisfying.

Of course, there are some drawbacks. Actually, only one: The pair cost $17,000. Shipping costs are not disclosed directly on the supplier’s website, but considering that the pair way a combined 850lbs, its surely on the high end of “substantial.”

Obviously these high-priced bashing bots are probably worth every penny and are not in the least bit disappointing to watch. If you’ve already blown $17K on these guys and need to keep that illusion, don’t watch the following video.
