Huge Canadian Game Giveaway Gets Out Of Hand, Becomes American Black Friday

Future Shop

Apparently Canadian companies don’t care about things like profit margins, because this weekend Canadian game retailers Best Buy and Future Shop gave gamers the best deal ever: trade in literally any PS3 or Xbox 360 game and get Battlefield 4, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag or Call of Duty: Ghosts, free. As you can imagine, things got crazy.

Canadian gamers lined up early and showed up to stores across the country in massive droves to take advantage of the offer, which gave away the PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii U versions of the $60 games. There were no restrictions on what you could trade in. Here’s some photo evidence via Twitter of the mayhem:

Yeah, they’re polite-looking mobs – but what do you expect? It’s way too cold for mayhem in Canada in November.

If you’re in Canada (or sneaking across the border), the offer stands until November 11th – if the stores still have the games in stock.
