These Finnish AIDS Council ads are not only eye-catching and mark genitals with Internet map markers, but imitate Facebook Places, which is essentially Facebook’s Foursquare style check-in feature. Microsoft Prods at Google With New Gmail Man Video

In light of Google’s new privacy policy changes, Microsoft has released a jab at Google in the form of a new Gmail Man video ironically, as I’m sure you’ll note, hosted on Google-owned YouTube. Whether you agree with the Microsoft ad –because it is an ad, after all– or not, it’s hard not to appreciate the that little girl’s expression when she finds out where ads come from. Personally, I think everyone is over-reacting anyways. I hardly ever say anything important over gmail anyways; I usually use GChat, or text from my Android phone. Whatever. Jerry Seinfeld Reunites with Soup Nazi in Another Super Bowl Ad Attempting to Tickle Our Nostalgia Bone

First it was Matthew Broderick reprising the role of Ferris Bueller to promote Honda, now another Super Bowl car commercial features Jerry Seinfeld reuniting with the Soup Nazi in order to promote the new Acura NSX. The video, seen after the break, features Seinfeld following around some guy in order to pry the first Acura NSX off his hands, offering him a wide variety of add services and products in the Acura’s place. One of those products is the Soup Nazi, who sternly spouts, “Soup for you,” a variant on, well, you know. How do you feel about this year’s Super Bowl resurrecting some of your old favorite characters in order to promote cars?

It Turns Out Ferris Bueller Returned to Promote Honda [Video]

Last week, a ten second teaser starring Matthew Broderick surfaced, in which he seemingly took on the role of Ferris Bueller once again. It was a bit mysterious, but we all knew it was for some kind of promotion. Well, it turns out the whole campaign is to promote Honda. Specifically, the CR-V. It also turns out that Broderick isn’t technically assuming the role of Ferris Bueller once again, as he’s referred to as Matthew Broderick in the ad, though just about everything else regarding the ad is Ferris Bueller — including the music, Broderick’s speech mannerisms, as well as all of the gags.

There are plenty of videos of people microwaving crazy things on YouTube, so what makes this any different? Google May Have Broken Its Own Paid Link Rules, May Have to Remove Chrome Download Page From Results

Yesterday, Aaron Wall of SEO Book made an interesting discovery: If you did a Google search for “This post is sponsored by Google,” you’d get a whole bunch results that were relatively hollow, content-thin endorsements of Google Chrome. You know, the kind of sponsored content that’s more about mentioning a name and dropping a link more than anything else. The problem? Google’s own rules say that paid links have to be designated as such, so they won’t affect a page’s PageRank. These links were not, and the penalty could be painful.

Internet behemoths like Facebook and Google are starting to get miffed about the increasing trend of browser apps that are effectively stealing their adspace out from under them by giving their own ads a priority spot.
