Official Skyrim Portal 2 Mod Might be Hiding a Portal 2 Quest

Yesterday, Skyrim’s official mod tools released to the masses, and along with a high resolution texture pack, came a somewhat out of left field Portal 2 mod, wherein the Space Core plummeted to Skyrim’s fertile ground. Today, through console commands, YouTube user Memorable found a hint that either a Portal-related quest now resides in Skyrim so long as one has the Space Core mod, or a Portal-related quest is incoming in a future update. Video and explanation after the break.

This Valentine’s Day Try DIY Brief Jerky, 100% Edible Meat Underwear

You might not want to believe me, but as it turns out, beef jerky underwear is a thing that some people want. Moreover, beef jerky underwear is a thing that some people might be willing to pay for. It’s not unheard of.  Instructable user Carleyy –apparently a member of the first group but not the second — has come up with a way for you to easily make your own pair of Brief Jerky, and as a bonus, they are entirely edible. Yeah. You know you want a pair.

Tortoise Eats The Heck Outta This Salad, Mercifully Time Lapsed [Video]

Proving that you can make anything interesting by time lapsing it and slapping some cliche dramatic music on top, Matthew Hoyos’ video of a tortoise eating fruits and veggies is a real treat. At this speed, that tortoise is a terrifying eating machine with a vegetarian diet. As fun as the video is, I ache to know how long it took the tortoise to get through his meal in regular time.

You Need a List of Notable Sandwiches? Okay

Wikipedia, now the default seat of all knowledge and wisdom, is like a beautiful gem. Every time you examine it, you discover new facets, and pleasures, that had hitherto gone unseen. Today’s find is the list of notable sandwiches, in case you need that. While certainly far from comprehensive, and containing a few references to sandwiches created by obscure chefs within the past few years, it’s another sterling example of the many earnest-but-hopeless tasks on Wikipedia.

Mythbusters Pose With Freakishly Realistic Miniature Versions of Themselves

Well, that’s unsettling: The Internet has unearthed this photo of Mythbusters stars Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage posing with pint-sized simulacrums of themselves. A myth-busting experiment about cloning gone horribly wrong? A terrifying portent of things to come? Apparently not. Eagle-eyed Redditors point out that the lifelike masks were made for a segment on their show, and have been incorporated into the duo’s live act where kids from the audience are disguised as the Mythbusters. While that’s some good knowledge to have, it doesn’t make this image any less unsettling.

Watch Malware Get Embedded in Bone, Then Uploaded to a Computer in Bones

Television, specifically run-of-the-mill procedurals, has a reputation for either not getting anything right when it comes to computers, or at the very least, the scenarios in which computers are used to progress the episode’s plot are designed by people that actually know how computers work, but are trolls of the highest order. In this installment, we take a look at Bones, a show about Leonard McCoy’s life after the Enterprise – nah, actually it’s a show about solving crimes because of bones or something. In this episode, we see a character’s computer burst into flames because a malware fractal that was imprinted on bones shut the computer’s fans off when the bones were scanned into the computer, thus uploading the virus. It’s all very scientific. Watch the clip after the jump.

Typographer Upset About Fonts in Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, Writes Letter to Brad Bird

Matthew Butterick is very devoted to his job as a typographer, where he concerns himself with the design of fonts and finding just the right look for words. Apparently, Mr. Butterick is so very devoted to his job as he was unable to fully immerse himself in The Incredibles director Brad Bird’s latest film Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol due to a critical choice of fonts. It seems that during the film, the font Verdana made a few appearances which Butterick saw as a huge mistake. Obviously, he had to bring this to the director’s attention.

And what, pray tell, is the problem with Verdana?

Fleshlight-Holding iPad Case is Just as Creepy as It Sounds [UPDATED]

Are you speechless, or just surprised no one thought of this earlier? Behold: The Fleshlight Holding iPad Case for all your, you know, needs. Let’s not qualify that with an adjective; it speaks for itself. Now, it’s worth noting two things here. This is neither a real thing — it’s a concept mockup — nor is it officially endorsed by Fleshlight in any way, shape, or form. Last thing we need is letters from Fleshlight to start showing up at the Geekosystem office. But yeah. This is a thing someone thought of. Welcome to the future, everyone.
