The world doesn’t end because the Doctor dances

Doctor Who Season 7 Trailer [Video]

We’re still quite a while away from the next season of Doctor Who, but the BBC have given us a short trailer to satiate our appetites. It appears that to kick off season 7 (Americans here, so “season”) the Doctor will be back in America, and back under a Stetson, both of which are things to which we’re not opposed. There might be tumbleweeds blowing across a gun duel, but like, space and time tumble weeds.

Own a Super Limited Edition 11th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver Replica

As part of the QMx Artisan Master Series, Doctor Who prop maker extraordinaire Nick Robatto has made an offered up a replica of the 11th Doctor’s sonic screwdriver — you know, the green one. Robatto has been the prop maker for the show since the reboot in 2005, back when the Doctor was a cool guy wearing a leather jacket saving blonde girls from mannequins. Each sonic screwdriver takes around two weeks to make, and contains 148 aluminum, brass, copper, leather, and resin components. And yes, it extends and lights up just like the one in the show, but how much, you ask?

Things You Want to Know About the Next Season of Doctor Who

First off, yes, we call them “seasons” here. Secondly, showrunner Steven Moffat revealed a few important tidbits about the next season of Doctor Who, which is unfortunately set to air around a year from now, in fall 2012, rather than a few months from now. The biggest detail? No more two-part episodes, both the bane and delight of many Doctor Who fans.

This Doctor Who Chess Set is Adorable

DeviantART user EldalinSkywalker felt that Doctor Who fan art is a little too cluttered with drawings and paintings, so she combined everyone’s favorite Time Lord with everyone’s favorite game played with clocks. The result is this adorable Doctor Who chess set, complete with Dalek and Adipose pawns, David Tennant (because he’s the best) and the Master as the Kings, and, in a clever touch, the Weeping Angels as Rooks. Yes, the setup in the above picture has the Kings and Queens out of alignment, but it’s okay. The pieces are still pretty incredible. The set was on sale, for the pricey price of $535, but at what price fandom?

Watch the Prequel to the Doctor Who Christmas Special Right Here [Video]

The Doctor Who Christmas special, The Doctor, The Witch and The Wardrobe is quickly approaching, airing on BBC One on Christmas Day, at 7:00 pm. This year, we have a prequel mini-sode to watch, written by showrunner Steven Moffat and starring the current doctor, Matt Smith. It takes on somewhat of a LOST theme, with the Doctor stuck holding a big button or else something bad will happen; in this case, the ship the Doctor is on will explode. Check out the prequel after the break, and prepare to put all of your Christmas Day plans on hold for around an hour to watch what we can only hope is a Christmas special better than last year’s fantastic A Christmas Carol.

Remember last year, when the Doctor revealed he might've married Marilyn Monroe?

The Doctor Wants His Fez Back

The Internet has been abuzz about the children’s book I Want My Hat Back for a little while, and a few parodies of the story have emerged. Our favorite parody, of course, is the Doctor Who one where Matt Smith wants his fez back. Head on past the break for the whimsical tale of fezes and Stetsons, with many of your favorite characters making an appearance, including who seems to be Vincent Van Gogh, and everyone’s favorite roommate, Craig.

These Doctor Who Ornaments Will Transport Your Christmas Tree Through Time and Space

Power Wheels are for Sissies: Your Child Deserves a Motorized Dalek

For some parents, passing on their genetic material to their offspring is only half the fun. Some successfully pass on their taste in entertainment, like an appreciation for popular recently resuscitated British sci-fi drama Doctor Who. These little Whovians are clearly of discriminating taste, which is why they require an inflatable, motorized Dalek they can ride around in.

Packing a top speed of 2 mph and 10 authentic Dalek phrases (most related to extermination, one presumes), this red Dalek is incapable of hovering. Which, as any true fan of the series would agree, is proper for Daleks.
