Japanese Man Orders $80 Whopper With 1,050 Strips Of Bacon [Video]

Burger King Japan is currently running an ill-advised promotion where you can add 15 strips of bacon to your Whopper for a scant 100 yen, or about $1.20. “Ill-advised?” you say, “that sounds awesome!” Yes, for the most part it does. The ill-advised part is that there is apparently no limit, as a reporter from the Japanese website RocketNews discovered when he ordered a Whopper with a whopping 1,050 strips, at the cost of around $80. There’s no telling if someone will attempt to one-up the record, but if anyone is even thinking about it, may God have preemptive mercy on their souls. Also their arteries.

Sony to Cut 10,000 Jobs in an Attempt to Regain Profitability

Japanese newspaper Nikkei reports that Sony is cutting 10,000 jobs, which makes up six percent of its global job force, in order to bring the company out of the red and regain profitability. Though this is unfortunate for 10,000 employees, Sony consumers won’t be hit as hard, as the cuts are coming from divisions that will likely have little effect on most of Sony’s operation.

In a Perfect World, This Adventure Time Video Game Would Exist

Artist Mike Gaboury dreamed a beautiful dream of an Adventure Time video game, and decided to share just a piece of that dream with us. Working in his spare time, and for no reward other than his love for the show, Gaboury animated the intro and start screen to an imaginary side-scrolling retro-style Adventure Time game. Though it’s just a fan project, it is a tantalizing to think of what a full-fledged AT game in this style would be like. See the video, after the break.

BTjunkie Closes Its Doors For Good, Out of Fear of Legal Action

Perhaps almost as shocking as the initial MegaUpload takedown is the wide-reaching effects it has had on the Internet landscape as a whole. It persuaded FileSonic and other cyberlockers to turn off file sharing of their own accord, and played a part in convincing The Pirate Bay to retreat to a .se domain. Now you can thank it for the closure of BTjunkie, which voluntarily shut down today, for fear of legal action to come.
