Report: New Xbox to Get Kinect 2, Will Support Blu-ray but Not Used Games

It’s about that time in the console generation when rumors start flying around like wild. Many of them make you excited for all the wonderful gaming possibilities the future can hold, others are a little bit more terrifying. Naturally, as “Xbox 720″ enthusiasm keeps snowballing, we’re going to get a bit of both. For instance, the new Xbox is rumored to be at least 6 times more powerful than the 360, support Blu-ray, and bring a new version of Kinect along with it. The catch? It may not support used games.

New Neo Geo Portable On The Way

Surprise! There’s a new Neo Geo Portable device, currently going by the enthralling name of Neo Geo Portable Device for the time being. The device carries a SNK logo, has a 4.3 inch screen, 2 gigs of storage and comes loaded with 20 games, but has yet to be confirmed by SNK itself. All the info comes from Famicon Plaza, who got their hands on some stats, which is how they can tell you it has 4 shoulder buttons; a 2200mAh battery; and AV, SD, and headphone ports. They don’t, however, have any information on release date or price. Still, it’s pretty looking and comes with games, which is enough for now.

Anonymous Allegedly Threatens Sony, Justin Bieber, Others Over SOPA Support

An Anonymous-branded message threatening Sony and a handful of celebrities has surfaced and calls for attacks on the target parties as retaliation for their collective support of SOPA. The message announces that Anonymous will “destroy [Sony's] network,” and has “declared that [their] fury will be brought upon…Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift,” for their grievous crime. Now, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Releasing a video announcing an Anonymous attack doesn’t necessarily make said Anonymous attack real, but this one seems to be gaining some traction.

You’re More Likely To [X] Than Click On A Banner Ad, Maybe

So, there are some interesting statistics floating around that are highlighting the fact that nobody clicks on banner ads anymore. Solve Media, a company that puts banner ads in those lovely CAPTCHA tests, has been collecting the data and compairing it against some relatively infrequent (and extremely rare) phenomena. Apparently, you are 2.13 times as likely to get a full house in poker, and 475.28 times more likely to survive a plane crash than you are to click on a banner ad. Amusing, no?

Of course, now that more and more Internet users are becoming acquainted with the Internet enough to know that banner ads are bad news, you can only expect that banner click-throughs are dropping off like crazy. And while these statistics seem to be showing that in an interesting manner, there’s something about them that doesn’t quite feel right. It has been a while since I took statistics and even longer since I paid a lick of attention to statistics, but some of these odd ratios strike me as vague and lacking in context, so I wouldn’t bet on them (ha!). Whatever the case, I’m completely in favor of not clicking on banner ads anymore. Unless they’re the ones that let you punch a monkey or something. Those can stick around.

Check out the rest of these “statistics” after the jump.

Did Frank Miller Just Join Twitter?

Legendary graphic novelist Frank Miller — you may know him as the guy behind The Dark Knight Returns, Sin City, and 300, appears to have recently joined Twitter with the username FrankMillerInk.

The account has yet to be verified, so it may just be a hat-clad impostor, but MTV’s Splash Page reports that ““The Spirit” movie producer F.J. DeSanto and “Fanboys” director Kyle Newman have lightly verified the account with their own tweets.”

A few more points of evidence in favor of this being the real Miller:
