Sign of the Apocalypse #14438: Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D Coming in 2011

Because the first Alvin and the Chipmunks movie and Alvin and the Chipmunks: the Squeakquel apparently did not do a good enough job of destroying the good will and nostalgia engendered by Ross Bagdasarian, Sr.‘s classic cartoon series — or maybe because they made a combined $791 million worldwide — 20th Century Fox has announced that production has started on Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D, which is set to hit theaters on December 16th, 2011.

No real details on what to expect from the movie, but if the past movies are any benchmark, rampant scatological humor and David Cross legacy flamewars seem like good bets. Also, more Chipettes.

Phantanos

This isn’t your father’s Chipmunks! The first film was a tribute to Ross Sr.
The Squeakquel and now the 3D film ; are Ross Jr. and Janice’s children!
The classic Alvin was cheeky slapstick. The 80′s version worked in a different manner.

The films are adaptions to the latter version. Telling social stories without being too moralistic. The element of pathos, is what makes thease characters come to life!
Today’s critics are too self indulged,jaded and pompus. They only see and praise what they like ! Sadly harmless family fare, is on there hit list!
