The Many Flavors of Corgis

Over the weekend, a Reddit user posted the above picture of a Husky/Corgi mix, which soon found itself disseminated to all corners of the Internet. This should come as no surprise since, as we’ve discussed before, the Internet cannot help but love corgis. But now there’s more to love since the Horgi (Corskey?) has inspired other Corgi hybrid owners to show off their mutts, with adorable results.

My corgis, let me show you them.

This handsome fellow is a Corgi/English Bulldog mix, yielding what looks like a brindled corgi-sized pit bull. My personal favorite.

A Corgi/Chihuahua, but in all honesty you could probably pass him off as a Corgi/Doberman or possibly a Corgi/Bernese Mountain Dog if you were a liar.

The oh-so-logical combination of Corgi and Shiba Inu, yielding heart-melting results.

Only by the addition of Jack Russel genes could the Corgi’s legendary ears be made even more ridiculous (and lovable).

Corgi/Labrador (Corgidor?) is here, and is adroable.

Lastly, a Corgi/Husky/Lab. Because why not? With those ears, he looks like a good candidate for Batdog, the crime-fighting canine co-star.

UPDATE: BuzzFeed has graced the internet with 25 corgi hybrids. See some of the best below.

It is illegal to take copyrighted photos from flickr and post them elsewhere. The 8th photo down (corgi/aussie mix) is my photo. No one asked my permission to use it. This is ILLEGAL, please remove the photo immediately.

Myself & other friends from flickr have struggled so long with people mis-using our photos illegally in many ways, I have grown to have no tolerance, even for a simple blog post like this. I have finally had to make my photostream friends-only because so many people have stolen images of my dog & used them all over the net in various ways (claiming he is their dog, giving him new names, etc etc).

People need to learn that taking photos from the internet is ILLEGAL. All photos are automatically copyrighted to the photographer, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED. Flickr has a vast selection of photos labeled “creative commons” which means they can be used & shared freely; please stick to using those photos only. OR you can simply & easily send a flickr message to the owners of any photo you want to use & ask permission. All other photos on flickr are labeled copyrighted.

The internet makes it really easy for people to use photos freely & Im sure most people do not realize this is actually illegal, so I’m trying to spread the word. THANK YOU for understanding.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. When I wrote the post I had no idea the photo in question was yours, nor any information about the source when I saw it on Buzzfeed (http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/awesome-corgi-cross-breeds).

We absolutely respect the copyright of photographic works. The image has since been removed from the post and I’ve deleted the file from our servers.

Originally there were just wolves but then man domesticated them and began a centuries long journey of selective breeding building upon and perfecting the already amazing wolf. Corgi’s are the fruition of that dream are easily the best dogs on earth literally four legged perfection. why would people intentionally muddy the already perfect gene pool with the filth of lesser canines?
