This Creepy Animation Will Make You Reconsider Cloning [Video]

This rather lovely albeit suspenseful short animated film — simply titled MURDER — from Yang Tzu Ting is really something else. After a scientist’s twin brother is murdered, he attempts to use the cloning machine the two of them created to reproduce his brother. After all, twins are basically clones, right? Surely nothing could go wrong as evidenced by the dark and stormy night all of this seems to happen on. Only good and awesome things happen in gloomy laboratories.

Interesting and fun piece of art. having said that, what on earth does that have to do with reconsidering cloning? Should I reconsider the gamma irradiation of medical equipment for sterilization because of the fucking hulk? I swear, the content of the writing on this blog continually goes downhill. I really am at a loss for why I come here and subject myself to this idiocy.

Well the story was about the Scientist cloning him self, and when the clones comes out of the machine, the clone is acting weird and looks odd, so it was a failed experiment, after the Scientist buries his clone, he see’s his refection in the spade. The Scientist was the clone.

So you should reconsider cloning as the clone could kill you.

Adam, or that when we clone ourselves we will see ourselves for who we truly are and want to murder the clone, thinking that we could never be that ugly, evil, etc.

@ Guest, there is a solution. If the writing is going downhill, either stop visiting, start your own blog, or just shut up. No one is forcing you to visit here and I think the stories on this site are great. Get over yourself.

I think the point with the hulk and all was more: this cloning is incredibly unrealistic, whereas actual cloning is not.

im so confused :D what i thought was that for some reason he killed his own brother, maybe for the fame or maybe deep down he wanted to clone himself and couldnt do that if he already had one (his twin). so he put himself in the machine but when he saw what/who came out and it was (the murderer) he went nuts, killed him etc. then he saw his reflection and went nuts again, ultimately working out that he is the murderer… maybe im not to sure  thats just how i saw it

Well, at the moment cloning is just based on cloning cells, but in theory at some point in the future cloning an exact duplicate of your self should be possible, I can’t see why is wouldn’t be, and if it does become possible it would rase some ethical questions.
