Denny’s Introduces the Fried Cheese Melt, a Grilled Cheese With Mozzarella Sticks Inside

Restaurant chain Denny’s is updating their $2, $4, $6, and $8 value menu items, and along with that comes the Fried Cheese Melt. For only $4, a lucky Denny’s customer can eat a sandwich that contains four fried mozzarella sticks and melted American cheese stuffed between two slices of sourdough bread, served with french fries and a side of marina sauce. I am very unhappy at the moment because I will not be one of those lucky customers, as the closest Denny’s to me seems to be around an hour and a half away.

The Fried Cheese Melt, along with the other new items that aren’t nearly as important as the Fried Cheese Melt, debuted about a week ago, so anyone who lives somewhere normal can go drive the five minutes to their closest Denny’s and tell me how awesome living near a Denny’s just became.

I must be in a test region, because my friends and I have been getting these at Denny’s since last winter.

Yep, this is at least a year old.  Even the referral links have “2010″ in their URLs. So…welcome to 2010, James!

they are adding another sandwich to the menu that is like 1700 calories. that might be where the confusion is.

I’ve been making that for like 6 years since I’ve been working at the family restaurant. Shame on you Dennys for taking credit for my sammich. BTW, just like everything else in the world, it’s way better with bacon.
