Now That Disney Owns Star Wars, This is What They Did With Darth Vader

For those of you worried about Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm, they didn’t ruin comics when they bought Marvel, right? They certainly didn’t ruin sports by owning ESPN either, so if you’re worried that they’ll turn Star Wars into some kind of Kingdom Hearts-style mashup where Mickey can’t stop feeling disturbances in the Force, I’d recommend a wait-and-see approach first. On the other hand, all of those animatronic kids in It’s a Small World getting Force-choked until they can’t sing anymore would be just fine. However you feel about the purchase, this is how Disney celebrated, playing on the old stereotype of where athletes say they’re going to go after they win some kind of bowl or finals or world-spanning series. At any rate, don’t forget: Many people would say Disney is a more terrifying cult than the Sith anyway.

This is the first time Star Wars has given me a cheesy grin since a long long time ago…

True, Disney corporate is certainly more in touch with the dark side of the force… Perhaps movies where Darth Vader isn’t portrayed as a whiny, petulant, and over privileged teenager they will make. Perhaps…

Damn you, George, damn you! Anyway, I am all for this purchase on one condition: Vader (hoarse breathing and everything) chokes every single Disney Channel show with actual people in it, such as Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Wavavava Place, So Random… Sunny… all of them. Just die already :/
