This Doctor Who Chess Set is Adorable

DeviantART user EldalinSkywalker felt that Doctor Who fan art is a little too cluttered with drawings and paintings, so she combined everyone’s favorite Time Lord with everyone’s favorite game played with clocks. The result is this adorable Doctor Who chess set, complete with Dalek and Adipose pawns, David Tennant (because he’s the best) and the Master as the Kings, and, in a clever touch, the Weeping Angels as Rooks. Yes, the setup in the above picture has the Kings and Queens out of alignment, but it’s okay. The pieces are still pretty incredible. The set was on sale, for the pricey price of $535, but at what price fandom?

I do agree with choosing David Tennant as The Doctor because I also think he’s the best but what the hell does River there? She’s by far the worst.companion.ever. I’d had chosen Rose but Donna would have been a great choice too.

    Not on sale anymore. Sold.

I agree with you about River. I liked her at first, but then felt that the more she appeared, the more obnoxious she became.

    Ah, shame.

I’ve never been a Donna fan to be honest; hated her at first (it was as if Catherine Tate was just playing every character she’d ever been in her comedy show rolled into one).  Though I must admit that she grew on me as the series went on…

I do agree that it should have been Rose though :)

Agreed. Rose is my personal favorite.

I’m a girl! So not a ‘he’. (I’m the artist who made this). ;) Just so you know. And I considered Rose, but I felt River had a more pivotal role in the series. It all depends on your personal taste though!
