Drive-Throughs Really Want to Put a Stop to Coning for Some Reason [Video]

A few months ago, we posted a funny video featuring coning, someone’s silly attempt to find the new planking, wherein a customer purchased an ice cream cone from a drive-through joint, then when he pulled up to the window, he grabbed the ice cream cone from the ice cream instead of the cone, and drove off. A couple of videos that have surfaced over the past few days features drive-through employees putting up a fight when a customer attempts to cone. The videos have to be staged, right? Why would McDonald’s care if you got your own hands a little ice creamy in your own car before you drove off?

How is a restaurant selling ice cream going to stop people from how they want to grab their own food?!  They can’t police this…Americans have the freedom of expression/speech!

They still get their money, who cares!

All they need to do is take then just turn it over after, they can’t stop them.

I dont get the point of this, why would anyone think grabbing the ice cream opposed to the cone is funny, younger generations need something better to do with their lives, this is just stupid.

McDonald’s should promote this, would sell more ice-creamcones!

Grabbing the ice cream isn’t the problem, it’s when it’s thrown back in the window or at the building, creating a mess, is where the problem lies. I agree, I dont understand why any of it is funny and those who do need to try getting a job where they have to clean up behind others and their ‘funny’ pranks.

    1. Coning is the most idiotic thing I’ve heard of since planking.
    2. The reason McDonald’s cares is that it’s a lawsuit-happy world, and it wouldn’t be the first time they got sued by some idiot doing something stupid with one of their products.

That’s what I thought….some moron’s gonna cone, then sticky hands on a steering wheel will be blamed for a crash or something…

Pretty sure publishing video likeness of non-celebrity people’s faces without consent or just cause (a newsworthy event) can get you in legal trouble if the person pursues a claim (learned this in journalism a decade ago, and since they still blur out people’s faces on reality shows it must still be holding…).  Someone should tell the people from the second video that….they seem to be the sort of people who go, “I don’t *think* it should be illegal, and therefore it’s not!”  …

There is at least a tiny semblance of art to planking (sometimes) but this is just plain stupid.
