Facebook Prankster Slightly Changes Friend’s Face in Photos, Re-Uploads Them

Pictured above is a hilariously subtle (which makes it devilishly evil) prank where Oli downloads pictures of his friend James from Facebook, edits them to slightly change his face and other little details, then re-uploads them back to Facebook. As seen by the comments left by James, he’s not too fond of the prank, even if he has a prime opportunity to claim he owns a bush baby.

“they are not my teeth and that is not my bush baby!”

    best. line. EVER.
    XD

Sheesh, don’t people have anything better to do with their time than play dumb pranks? Anyway, whoever owns a bush baby is lucky. It would be great if those and many other exotics were legal to own here. At least sugar gliders and chinchillas, and ferrets aren’t banned here.

Gah, looking at the comments showing on this one page, and all but two think this bullying idiocy is hilarious. Yeah, small wonder the internet gets such bad press.

  • H.W.

he could just remove the guy from his friends list if he wanted to

    – splutter -

I’d like to apologize for Bumgarner’s two consecutive poor outings, both which by random chance I happened to be at.

  • Ellien

Hmm is it funny because you know the guy? I see the potential but as far as these photos go… /shrug…

I KNEW A 13 YEAR OLD KID THAT DID THIS GOOD WHEN MAKING HIS OWN MAGIC THE GATHERING CARDS. DID IT WITH COMMON SCANNER, PC, AND PRINTER AND A BIT OF IMAGINATION. SAD TO SAY, HOWEVER, HE WAS KILLED BY DRUNK DRIVER A FEW YEARS BACK WHEN RIDING HOME FROM LOCAL GAME DAY. THATS WHEN WE SAW AND USED HIS ‘NEW’ CREATIONS.

  • Observer

As a prank, I must admit this is a rather amusing and (semi-)innovative one. The point was made after three or so attempts, however. Anything beyond that, while amusing, was excessive.

One might be able to justify doing this to all one’s friends and creating a separate album of the subtly altered photos for purposes of humor art. Focusing on one target as this person appeared to is a form of bullying. Note the length of time involved. Started with several in October ’07, then one in ’09, then several more recently.

  • Gaea_ca

Yes it could be considered a form of bullying but if as previously mentioned it was bothering him that much why didn’t he just block the other guy, very quick and easy to do. Facebook is far from perfect but you can control who sees your photos and who is on your friends list.

  • GRatt

the person doing the pranking is a girl… not a guy.

Er…These are adults people, I mean anyone over the age of 15 that considers this bullying is a fool.

    Also, genius idea :)

  • Janep30

even an adult can be a bully, there is no age limit. This is excessive and childish for an adult though.

  • Cait

This is hilarious! I’m tempted to give this guy access to my photos and tell him to have at it :D

No giggling, especially in an excessive or childish fashion.

You’re right, above the age of 15 we call it harassment.

This is what you meant, right? You didn’t seriously mean to imply that people over the age of fifteen simply stop bullying others? Because that would be idiotic.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_Z4CJFSWSF6NJQ2QO56FEBHKHJM K

On geekosystem during class? Why, considering you are the paragon of maturity and intelligent decisions I will certainly bow to your opinion on what is considered proper online etiquette.

If I were James, I would feel flattered at all the attention!

I’m glad I’m not friends with anyone who would consider this bullying (i.e. people commenting on this post). Are you actually that sheltered? Lighten up.

  • ChuckWack

I nominate the above as the best post here.

I’m amazed by the number of adults who keep using the “bullying/harassment” card, and incredibly glad my friends have a better sense of humor than these people. C’mon, folks. This is one of his friends, and he certainly has the option of either blocking this person from accessing his albums or de-friending him/her if it’s that bothersome. Point is that there’s a solution. Most of us, beyond the age of legally enjoying a beer, have the emotional maturity/stability to be able to distinguish the difference between a friend enjoying a good prank (albeit one that’s annoying after a while), and true harassment. Some of his remarks on the photos clearly indicate he still had a sense of humor about it despite being annoyed. Grow up and stop being overly sensitive. Human emotions aren’t egg shells waiting to be crushed.  If you’re actually friends with the people on your friends list, they know what you really look like, and know you well enough to be able to tell the difference between a real photo, an altered photo, and a photo that is– real or altered– funny. If you’re so fragile that a friend’s altered prank photo depicting you as a balding, sun-scorched creep is so distressing you’re considering suicide or firing a gun in the office, you’re probably ready to be heavily medicated for severe depression… and the person posting the photo obviously isn’t really a friend.

Is this guy known to Geeoksystem? Did he give permission for you to post this blog? I hope so… because as funny as it seems, he might well not see it that way. Haven’t we learned enough about the terrible consequences of people being plastered over the internet? If he gave permission for you to post this, fine… if not, this is crossing a line.

What a cry baby. He is whining instead of enjoying his 15 minutes of fame. He should be flattered that someone took the time to prank him. Boo Hoo.

If that was me, I would have laughed my ass off. If you can’t laugh at yourself, you don’t deserve to laugh at anyone else. Besides, this guy pretty much just gave his bud an open invite to prank him back.
