This is What Happens When You Photoshop an Overweight Cat Into Art

This is what happens when the Internet collides head on with masterpieces of the western artistic tradition. Here, the graceful, lithe forms from classical works of art have been replaced with an fat orange cat. Because why not?

Now, some will say that this is a horrible, destructive thing to do to art. That it is mockery without heart, or reason, and a debasement all of humanity. Be that as it may, this is also a chance for millions who have no interest in “high art” to at least become familiar with it. Also, if a dozen-odd funny cat images isn’t enough to make you click through, I should point out that this post has the most nudity of any Geekosystem post ever. So, there’s that.

We’ve done our best to chase down a provenience for these images, but if we’re wrong we’d love to give credit where it’s due!

UPDATE: The mind behind the madness has gotten in touch with us!

For educational purpose you should have put down artist and title at least.

  • Zandrazan

However ‘cute’ & clever this is, the artist might better spend his/her time exercising the undeniably winsome yet terribly unhealthy feline….. Just sayin’….

    Hello all fellow artlovers :)

This is just a quick note so that you have the basic data about the works of art which Mr. Eddy has so ingeniously modified with the pictures of his cat :)

    Going from the top:

    - The Birth of Venus by Sandro Boticelli, c. 1486

    - The Judgement of Paris by Peter Paul Rubens, 1639 (not to be mistaken with another Rubens’ painting by the same title from c. 1636)

    - The Three Graces by Peter Paul Rubens, 1639

    - Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening by Salvador Dali, 1944

    - Primavera by Sandro Boticelli, c. 1482

    - Pallas and the Centaur by Sandro Boticelli, c. 1482

    - Venus with Organist and Cupid by Tiziano Vecellio (also known as Titian), 1549

    - Morning in a Pine Forest, Ivan Shishkin, 1889

    - Drunken Silenus supported by Satyrs by Anthony van Dyck, c. 1620

    - Danae by Rembrandt van Rijn, c. 1636

    - Equestrian Portrait of King Philip IV by Diego Velázquez, 1635

Hope this helps supplement your knowledge of art:)

    Best wishes to everyone,
