[Update] The stream is now live! The cover image they selected says the video is of Game 7, but when you start the video it is the proper feed.

It’s been an exciting ten-game series between Magnus Carlsen and Vishy Anand during the 2013 FIDE World Chess Championship, and at the end of it all Carlsen came out on top with a solid three-game lead. Watch him claim his new title as World Chess Champion during the event’s closing ceremonies.

Carlsen’s victory was impressive, but we just found out from event commentator and chess grandmaster Susan Polgar that Carlsen managed it on his own, without the help of any seconds or coaches in Chennai. During the individual games, players rely entirely on their own skill, but in events like this it’s common to have advisors to consult between games. Polgar told us Carlsen didn’t have any help.

That is pretty amazing.
