Tomorrow’s Free Comic Book Day! What’s on Your Pull List?

Recommended Videos

Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day, which means…exactly what it sounds like! A chance to go down to your friendly neighborhood comics retailer and pick up some new books for the low price of absolutely nothing. Don’t have a local store? This is the perfect day to find one and introduce yourself around while you’re filling a swag bag to near bursting. Just don’t go without a plan in place.

A couple of weeks ago, Record Store Day Came around, and I was caught flat-footed. My lack of a plan meant I missed out on goodies like the reissue of At the Drive-In’s Relationship of Command and have since been relegated to scrounging around the filthier corners of eBay trying to lay my greasy mitts a copy of the seven-inch featuring b-sides from my favorite Elliot Smith album. Like an animal.

Granted, FCBD is a horse of a different color. The books aren’t limited edition, but printed en masse to draw new readers into forthcoming titles or add a bit of story to a new one. Still, that’s no reason to go without a shopping list, just to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Topping my list so far? Marble Season, a trailer of sorts for the longer book of the same name due out this year from Gilbert Hernandez, first off. And I’d be stupid not to grab a copy of Brian Clevenger’s always excellent Atomic Robo, so call that a must grab, too, on account of how I like to think I’m not stupid. I’ve been looking for an excuse to check out the new Dark Horse title R.I.P.D, so the FCBD split between it, Mass Effect, and The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys looks good. There are a couple of choice cuts from the vault this year, too, including reprints of classic Buck Rogers stories from Hermes Press and IDW’s reissue of some old school Judge Dredd goodness. You can bet I’ll be making a beeline for tomorrow’s new The Tick book, because The Tick, duh.

Oh, yeah, and Marvel’s teaser for their Infinity event later this year that combines two of my favorite things in the Marvel U,  Thanos and Johnathan Hickman? You better believe I’m grabbing one of those.

You can check out the full list of swag right here, and please feel free to let me know what else I should be getting a look at tomorrow!

Happy hunting, everyone.
