Fried Butter on a Stick

So, you’ve seen fried kool-aid balls and are aware that fried butter balls also exist, but what about fried butter, wait for it, on a stick. Yes, that is the new thing blowing up at the Iowa State Fair. It’s the 100th birthday of the butter cow, apparently, and what better way to celebrate that than a heart attack.

Before being fried, the 1/8th pound stick of butter is dipped in a batter that is heavy on cinnamon and honey. Then, while it’s fried for about 3 minutes, the butter melts into the batter, resulting in a butterlicious stick of fried non-bitter butter batter that couldn’t be better. Also, it’s glazed. Frankly, I’m starting to get worried about the “fried x on a stick” tradition. Fried butter is getting pretty meta. At some point someone is going to start selling fried oil on a stick and that’s it. Where do you go from there?
