It’s a Good Thing They Made E.T. 30 Years Ago [Video]

Everybody loves E.T. The alien. The kid. The bike. What’s not to love? Even though it seems like a simple enough concept, I don’t think that Hollywood could produce a movie like E.T. today. There’s too much focus testing, generalization, and reliance on stereotypes. You know who agrees with me? The guys and gals from Above Average Productions. If E.T. were pitched to film studio executives today, they’d call him a turd, and demand he get shot. Just typing that is making me kind of sad right now.

Bullshit, the whole video. The writers of this POS forgot that Steven Speilberg was the sole person behind E.T. and nobody else-where did this bollocks-laden idea come from? Somebody’s ass?

FYI, there was/were focus groups and the like in Hollywood a long time ago, mostly at American International Pictures, which used focus groups in order to make the movies made there (and which nearly everybody, with a few exception, considers ‘classics’ [especially when anybody tries to do remakes of them]!) There’s probably been also that same thing at the other bigger movie companies for the same amount of time that AIP had their system.

If you all feel that movie making and movies suck, get off of your asses and get into the industry and make it better instead of making crappy videos like these.

Apparently you were born without a sense of humor. It’s very sad.

I have a sense of humor-it just doesn’t lie in so obvious a direction.
