Last week’s episode of Game of Thrones was all about the hard-won lessons of the Stark children. This week, there wasn’t a Stark to be seen. Instead we got plenty of Baratheon, Lannister, Targaryen, and Greyjoy drama. What was the most shocking moment? Who has us resenting the seven days until the next episode? Dig in and sound off in comments.

Note: Please keep your comments to this recap free of book spoilers. Those comments are welcome on our spoiler-friendly post here.

We’re in the thick of season four, and so episode six, “The Laws of Gods and Men,” gave us blood, boobs, dragons, and a final act that was full of shocking reveals and one of the greatest monologues the series has yet showcased. Sure, things started off slow with Stannis Baratheon and Davos Seaworth begging for a loan from that Bank of Braavos, secured only by the loyal Onion Knight’s rallying Miracle speech. But then director Alik Sakharov gave us our weekly dose of nudity via bathhouse exposition before jumping into the next deeply disturbing chapter of Ramsay and Reek.

Finally we see the return of Yara, who offers the second rousing speech of the night, telling her men that the injury of Theon and his manhood is injury on their own honor! It was thrilling to see Yara pay off on her reputation as a masterful military leader, beginning with a gruesome sneak attack then building to a symphony of swords clashing and hounds howling. And she would have gotten away with it (and her brother) if it weren’t for that meddling Reek.
