If You Google Image Search “Completely Wrong,” You’ll Mostly Get Pictures of Mitt Romney [UPDATE]

In case you didn’t already know, people were “completely wrong” about presidential candidate Mitt Romney‘s relatively recent 47% gaffe. This is the mantra that Romney’s campaign pushed after the secret recording made headlines and stirred the political pundits on both sides into a frenzy [Romney's apology for the debacle uses the phrase to suggest that he, perhaps, was out of line]. Unfortunately, it appears that this has also had an unintended side effect. Using Google Image Search for the phrase “completely wrong” mostly brings up photos of Mitt Romney.

World of Wonder explains:

Thanks to several news report titles with the term, “completely wrong,” from when Romney said his 47% comments are “completely wrong,” you can now Google Image search that term, and it will return mostly pictures of Mitt Romney. Now THAT’S poetic justice.

So, by trying to say his opponents were completely wrong in their assertions [by apologizing for his remarks], Romney is now invariably connected with “completely wrong.” Delicious.

UPDATE 10/10 3PM ET: Apologies! Read the article incorrectly. The original sentences are preserved, and the new text is presented in brackets. This goes to show just how much I actually care about politics. – Rollin

Nice try Geekosystem, trying to divert our attention away from the train wreck now known as the Obama Campaign. Obama’s lame attempt at pimping Big Bird to cover his no-show at the debate… that my friend is Delicious.

Hah. That is kinda funny. I’ll be sure to chuckle about that while celebrating Romney’s election.

Now now… Be nice. Obama didn’t have a teleprompter, so he had to memorize what his puppet masters had told him his position was. That’s pretty hard! And he had to spend all that time with Jay Z, Beyonce and Joy Behar, so he didn’t have a lot of time to review his notes. Give the guy a break. He has a pretty rough life.

I’m pretty sure he’s connected with “Completely wrong” because he recently apologized for his comments and called HIMSELF completely wrong.

I hate how politically biased this website can get. Get your facts straight.

In all fairness, if “completely wrong” brought up dozens of Obama images, I would be just as amused. Looks like I did misread the quote, though!

Thanks! I actually really appreciate the update. I stand corrected.

One of us will look very silly in November but for now I’m fairly confident in Obama’s reelection.
