The Google homepage is about to become potentially adorable, certainly awesome! Google announced its fourth annual Doodle 4 Google contest, giving students in grades K-12 the opportunity to design a logo for its homepage. The prize: a $15,000 scholarship and a $25,000 technology grant. And that’s not all!
Forty regional finalists will win a trip to New York City and will have their designs on display at the Whitney Museum of Art. And, of course, the grand prize winner will have their design appear on the Google homepage on May 20.

At Google, we believe that dreaming about future possibilities leads to tomorrow’s leaders and inventors, so this year we’re inviting U.S. kids to exercise their creative imaginations around the theme, “What I’d like to do someday…”
And the celebrity judges are Whoopi Goldberg, Olympic figure skater and gold medalist Evan Lysacek, and Garfield cartoonist Jim Davis. Kids might know who they are. Either way, those are sweet prizes, and encouraging creativity in kids is never a bad thing. Unless one of them wants to have a reality show for a living, but that entry will probably not win.
