Remote Control Toys: Real Missiles

There are very few people in this world with the know-how, let alone the resources, to build operational military vehicles. There are, however, a decent number of impassioned hobbyists who can and do build small-scale, remote controlled models.

From jets and choppers to cannons and even submarines, you name it and someone has probably built it. A feat in itself, sure, but what’s cool about the ones you’re about to see is that they shoot rockets. Tiny rockets, but rockets nonetheless.

Thanks, Internet: 180 Different Toilets Being Flushed, in Video Form

Some guy has uploaded 180 videos of flushing toilets to YouTube. What are we supposed to think? Weirder still is that he currently has 75 subscribers, toilet flushing fans all.

He assures us he’s a consummate professional:

I’m a big toilet fan, have been one ever since I could remember. I’m not going to say all of my videos are perfect there may be a little no. 1 or toilet paper in the toilet, but NO no.2.

26 Incredibly Awesome Minimalist Posters for Television and Music

The recent influx of minimalist posters has been awesome. It started with one person using their love of Quentin Tarantino movies and incredible artistic talent to create a series of fan art in the form of minimalist posters for each film. The concept snowballed from there.

Soon after, artists from all over were coming out of the internet woodwork to express appreciation for movies, television shows, superheroes and even celebrities with these types of posters.

Not only that, but the results were so awesome that some of the posters are sold for amounts ranging from under a hundred to over a couple hundred dollars. Here are 26 minimalist posters for television and music that everyone should see:

Phone Funeral Makes Fun of Your Broken Phone

Have you ever broken your phone in a way that seems too stupid to be true? Well, you’re not alone, as a new site called Phone Funeral proves. Phone Funeral is like an obituary column combined with an insult comic routine … for phones. Every entry features a picture of a dead phone and a caption that (usually) mocks the deceased handset’s owner.

15 Epic Keytar Solos

Keytars may have reached the height of their popularity in the 1980s, but don’t tell that to the Internet. If you do, it’ll probably shred you to death with synth sounds and finger tapping, all from the comfort of its own bedroom or home studio.

On the internet, the keytar is alive and well. Urlesque has rounded up the best keytar solos to prove it.

The Very Best Meme-Related iPhone Apps

A good meme spreads across the entire web, but a great one transcends the web altogether and gets its own iPhone app. It only makes sense. I mean, I’ma let other phones finish, but the iPhone is one of the greatest phones of all time. Even the slogan “there’s an app for that” has been quoted and parodied all over the web.

There’s plenty of meme-related fun to be had on Apple’s famous phone, from browsing lolcats to auto-tuning yourself with T-Pain. Some of the memes that have been app-ified might surprise you, though. (Trololo has an app? Already? Sweet!)

Read the list of the best web trends that have gone viral enough to infect your iPhone over at Urlesque.

Seven Great Wes Anderson Parodies

The wide angle shots. The overwhelming ennui. Unrequited love and suicidal longing. Primary colors and dry humor. The slow-mo sequence with accompanying glam rock.

Titled stills with twee Mark Mothersbaugh instrumental accompaniment. These are some of Wes Anderson’s directorial cliches, but we love him for them.

Urlesque found the best Wes Anderson parodies on Youtube that pay homage to one of our generation’s finest auteurs, Wesley Mortimer Wales Anderson.

Colleges Allow Video Applications, Hilarity Ensues

According to Newsweek, 5-10% of the applications at the four schools — Tufts, George Mason, William and Mary and St. Mary’s College of Maryland — included videos this year.

Getting into college isn’t the only reward for making a video application, though. Some of the most interesting submissions have gone viral on YouTube, racking up six-digit view counts:

Robot Unicorn Attack’s Erasure Song Sparks a New Meme

At first, it was just an innocent game, but now it’s gone viral and you won’t be able to get it out of your head.Robot Unicorn Attack is an addictive little Flash game on the Adult Swim site. It was cloned from a better game called Canabalt, but pumped up with enough unicorns and rainbows that you’ll think you’re on acid.

They’re having a field day with this song on 4chan’s videogame-themed image board, /v/, and related websites, posting a bunch of Rageguy-like drawings of people getting angry at Robot Unicorn Attack and then getting sucked into an Always-induced happy trance. Instead of shouting FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU!, now we’re all living in harmony, harmony, oh love!
