So, the Trailer for the Apocalyptic Sci-Fi Webseries H+ Looks Pretty Awesome

The trailer for thew forthcoming webseries H+ looks ambitious. Not only does it aim to tell a sprawling tale of technology gone horribly awry, but it aims to do so online.

Here’s all you need to know: H+, or Hplus Nano Teoranta allows people to access the Internet with their brains (like Roast Beef did that one time). Predictably, this goes very, very badly and society collapses after something starts affecting those people who underwent the procedure. In the wake of this global disaster, humanity must pick up the pieces.

The series looks pretty dang exciting, and will be debuting on August 8th at Comic-Con. However, you can subscribe to the series’ channel on YouTube — which suggest to me that this might be given away for free. Regardless, this looks like some quality, mold-brealking entertainment and I can’t wait to consume it.

I totally got goosebumps. Also, Hollywood is starting to make web series. I KNEW IT!

The weird thing is, a similar project came out two years ago. It was going to be a feature film at one point too. Google “Cyburbia” on youtube

It’s refreshing to see a new take on the 99% dead form of apocalypse, the super plague idea was good but this new technological version seems far more innovative. Furthermore it doesn’t look like this is going to be just another anti-progression/technology work and will actually take a interesting, multi-sided look at the issue. Simply put I have high hopes for this

Not happy. H+ is a transhumanist magazine. This is more “We suck so we can’t even get Transhumanism right” BS.

You know what? I was typing “This is probably more science has failed us bullshit” and the words are right there in the trailer. As a scientist and a futurist, this just makes me angry, like, more than ‘sounds in space’ angry. This is scaring people back into the past and that infuriates me. I expect nothing less from Warner Brothers stabbing itself into web series.

Call me if I’m somehow completely wrong.

I hope you’re right, but I am not getting the same optimistic vibe from this.
