Inappropriate Golden Books
by Robert Quigley | 8:59 am, May 20th, 2010
Twisting beloved children’s classics to strange and nefarious ends is a time-honored tradition. See: 3/4 of the jokes on Robot Chicken. But when the one doing the twisting is a Pixar story artist who’s worked on the likes of The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Up — he directed Up feature short George & AJ — you know you’re in good hands.
Inappropriate Golden Books are the brainchild of Josh Cooley, the aforementioned Pixar important guy. As their name suggests, they merge the big drawings and haloed pages of Little Golden Books with scenes from very much R-rated movies, like Terminator, The Godfather, and Goodfellas.

Online response to the illustrations has been so favorable, they’ll be making it into print! Titled Movies R Fun, you’ll be able to get ‘em at Comic-Con this year.
