After more than five months in orbit aboard the International Space Station, two Russian cosmonauts and one American astronaut will return to Earth via the Soyuz shuttle — and you’ll be able to watch the landing yourself if you check back here around 11:24 EDT. In the meantime, check out the NASA public livestream to learn more about the landing.
According to Space.com, crew members will give their goodbyes on the stream around 4:30 EDT, and the hatch will close on the Soyuz at 4:45 EDT. Undocking time is set for 8:02 EDT, and coverage of the landing itself begins at around 10:15 EDT. Finally, the shuttle will land on the Central Asian steppes of Kazakhstan at  11:24 EDT, or 9:24am on Tuesday in the area’s local time. So no matter when you’re tuning into the NASA public livestream, there’ll be something for you to watch.
NASA astronaut Mike Hopkins and cosmonauts Oleg Kotov and Sergey Ryazanskiy will be returning to Earth after a 166 day mission in the ISS. They’ll be replaced with NASA’s Steve Swanson and Russia’s Alexander Skvortsov and Oleg Artemyev on March 25, who will join Mike Mastracchio Mikhail Tyurin, and Koichi Wakata as part of Expedition 39.
