New Legend of Korra Scenes Have Snuck Out, Elemental Bending Abounds

With no solid release date for the The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra fans have had to make due with speculation, and the occasional still image. The best look we’ve had was the first 80-odd seconds of the first episode, and that was months ago. Now three new scenes, probably from the first episode, have leaked out onto these great wide interwebs, giving us the first look at Korra and her amazing bending abilities. I have to say, these clips seem to suggest a more action-oriented show, but hopefully one just as charming as the original series. The clips don’t seem very spoilery to me, except for a minor note, but watch at your own risk. See the videos, after the break.

So it’s not anime-style anymore but straight-up anime? Hm… Could be trouble.

    ummm… how high are YOU??
But seriously, whatever change in the animation style (and/or design) you are seeing, I don’t see it. And I’ve been animating for 5 years.

Go watch some old clips and come back. The mouths, the outlines, and the coloring are night and day. Hell, I shouldn’t have to say anything past “mouths.”

Avatar was never “anime-style”, it simply had Asian cultures in it. Korra isn’t anime-style either.

Have you ever actually *seen* anime? The style of animation is completely different.

Lol. I don’t know what you’re smoking, but the character anatomy is exactly the same. More specifically, the artist is Joaquim Dos Santos, the artist for both Airbender and Korra.

I’m not high and I’ve been watching the originals recently, the style is pretty much the same. The characters are just older.
