The Simpsons Spoof Minecraft With Couch Gag, and David Letterman Gets an Early Retirement Present

"We flew you in and put you up for that? I think we're done here."

Last night’s episode of The Simpsons started with a Minecraft version of the opening couch gag, but perhaps more impressive is that the team of animators also managed to turn around a David Letterman tribute between his retirement announcement Thursday and Friday when the video went up on YouTube.

That’s actually a little too impressive, so we’re guessing the Simpsons creators had a bit of advanced knowledge about Letterman’s announcement. It’s probably not hard to find some common connections between The Simpsons and Letterman’s Late Show staff. Either way, it’s a nice send off for Letterman, even if it’s well before his actual 2015 retirement.
