LOST’s Sawyer to be an Avenger? (Here’s Hoping for Hawkeye!)

Recommended Videos

With LOST now fading into DHARMA Initiative history, it’s high time the Island alum put their Oahu days behind them and move onto greener pastures. And it doesn’t look like we’ll be waiting very long.

Rumor has it that Josh Holloway, famous for playing the lovable rogue James “Sawyer” Ford, has been enlisted to join Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

According to Avenger News:

Apparently there’s been talk between Marvel and his group to play a “lead” role in an upcoming Marvel film. We mention a “lead” role because these bigger actors often won’t sign “retainers”, meaning everything should be 100% locked (character, film, etc) for Josh once he’s signed the dotted line.

It might as well be said: “Son of a bitch!”

However, considering that this is an unsourced rumor about as yet ongoing discussions between Marvel and Holloway’s people, the requisite grain of salt is needed here at least for the time being. Still, what kind of geeks would we be if we didn’t toy with the idea a bit?

Both Avenger News and io9 have bandied the idea of Holloway playing Hawkeye for the 2012 film and, being a rabid LOST fan, that sounds right on the money. Sawyer was always portrayed as a good man with dirt on his hands and a chip on his shoulder, and Hawkeye, as a former criminal, certainly has the muddy past that Holloway is very good at playing. And really now. Can you even picture him as Henry Pym AKA Ant-Man?

Bonus: Imagine Elizabeth Mitchell as Ms. Marvel. Right?
