Ad Fail: Unfortunate Luge Ad In Globe And Mail Just Four Days After Luger’s Death
by Glynnis MacNicol | 11:29 am, February 18th, 2010
Oy. Suffice it to say this is only one of those things that can only happen in print. Canada’s national newspaper the Globe and Mail reportedly ran this unfortunate ad just four days after Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili was killed in a practice run accident.

It gets worse. The ad apparently ran on the page opposite to this article.

Yeah. Not much to say here except someone probably should have thought to pull that ad sometime Friday evening. It’s sort of similar to those unfortunate times a magazine has put a person on the cover only to have them become either the center of a scandal or pass away in the interim between closing and newsstand. Except, considering the four day lapse of time I suspect this could have probably been more easily avoided.
