If You Live In NYC, Seattle, Or San Francisco, You Can Rent Kittens Today For $20

What's the opposite of the darkest timeline? We definitely live in that.

ASPCA, Cheezburger, and Uber are teaming up for National Cat Day to bring adorable kittens to your office. If that’s not the greatest thing you’ve ever heard, then you might want to get yourself checked out with one of those X-ray machines from How The Grinch Stole Christmas, because your heart may be three sizes too small.

If you go into the official Uber app between 11am – 4pm today and request the “KITTENS!” option, you can order 15 minutes of kitten snuggling for only $20. 100% of the proceeds go to local animal shelters — The Seattle Humane Society for Seattle, ASPCA for New York, and the SF SPCA for San Francisco. All the kittens are from these nearby shelters and are available for adoption, so if you fall desperately in love with one of them , talk to one of the shelter representatives that comes to deliver them to you. Demand will be high, however, because of course it will be. Who doesn’t want kittens to come to their office?

But that’s not all! In addition to delightful snorgles from wee baby animals, Cheezburger is including a delivery of fancy cupcakes. Where are these cupcakes from, you ask? Oh, nobody you’d know… just Duff Goldman from Charm City Cakes, which was bakery features in that Ace of Cakes show on the Food Network. Maybe if you ask real nicely, they’ll shape the cupcakes like the ship from Firefly for maximum awesomeness. We know they can do that.

Since the Geekosystem offices are in New York and we have the best boss ever who somehow knew about this before even we did, we might be getting access to these kittens if they’re available at some point during the day. So expect a lot of pictures and videos on our official Instagram account if that happens. We’ll probably be using the hashtag #ICanHasUberKittens, because that’s what Uber and the ASPCA told us to do.  Yay kittens!
