Screening of Noah Cancelled After Theater Floods

I cannot think of A Passion of the Christ equivalent for this, and that's probably a good thing.

Patrons of the Vue Cinema in Exeter, England were unfortunately unable to catch the first screening of Noah last Friday. But divine intervention (or a broken ice machine) still gave them plenty to talk about.

A spokesperson for the cinema explained to the Exeter Express & Echo,

We can confirm that there was flooding at Vue Exeter on Friday 4th April[…]We are open for business as usual and are working with engineers to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible.

The issue in question was a faulty ice machine that forced the theater to close until 2 pm April 4th, causing  cancellation of the first show. The irony was not lost on theatergoers, who were probably just happy to have escaped a watery grave. Many Junior Mints, Milk Duds, and popcorn kernels were likely not as lucky.

Which obviously begs the question: if you were the Noah of movie theaters, what candy would you ensure arrived on the ark? I’d definitely save some jujubes, but Goobers can drown along with all the rest of the peanut heathens.

Hopefully a rainbow appeared in the flood’s aftermath to promise the Vue a prosperous summer movie season.
