Are they taking nominations for the MacArthur Fellows Program? We only ask because the person who made this series of mashup photos combining the Christopher Nolan and Tim Burton Batman films is a genius of the highest order. Behance.net user Butcher Billy is the one behind this particular set of wonders, and we’d need Joker gas to smile more than we have at their work.

If you ever wanted to see Michael Keaton dance with Anne Hathaway, or wonder what it would look like if Jack Nicholson stuck his head out the window of a moving cop car, then you’re going to want to check out these photos. Some are obvious, but a few are subtle enough that someone might miss the mashup at first glance. Either way, they’re all pretty brilliant.

1. No. 1 | Batsuit Mark 1

   

   This one is almost subtle enough to miss what's being mashed up, but it does make us wonder what Christian Bale would have looked like in the 1989 version of Batman's costume -- Probably a lot more rubbery.

2. No. 2 | Joker in Jail

   

   Not the most seamless Photoshop job out of the collection, but still one of my favorites.

3. No. 3 | Swapping Selinas

   

   This is just a suggestion based on personal preference, but could someone please digitally insert Anne Hathaway into Batman Returns entirely?

4. No. 4 | He's Gonna Need Something a Lot Bigger to Get Through This

   

   This should satisfy anyone who was disappointed by the Joker's choice of weapons in The Dark Knight.

5. No. 5 | A Dog Chasing Cars

   

   This is one of the best uses of Photoshop in this series. Butcher Billy even got the reflection in the window right.

6. No. 6 | Love That Joker

   

   The 1989 Joker's plan to poison Gotham just seems that much more menacing when it's Heath Ledger's Joker holding the bottle.

7. No. 7 | Grumpy's Got Selina

   

   One of Joker's accomplices in his Dark Knight bank robbery has Michelle Pfeiffer! Oh noes!

8. No. 8 | You Can't Trust Brand X

   

   I really wish there were some behind the scenes clips of Heath Ledger doing the Brand X commercial from 1989's Batman in his Joker makeup.

9. No. 9 | It Would Be Extremely Painful -- For You

   

   I'm sure there's been a lot of debate in the deepest, darkest parts of nerd culture, about which Batman would have faired the best against Bane, but it looks like Michael Keaton is holding his own in the picture.

10. No. 10 | Bat v Batwing

    

    Seeing the Bat flying around Gotham was one of my least favorite parts of The Dark Knight Rises. It seemed to just be in there to justify selling a toy, but so did Batman's jet back in 1989.

11. No. 11 | Never Start With the Head

    

    The Joker's expression is perfect in this picture.

12. No. 12 | I Believe in Harvey Dent, and Billy Dee Williams

    

    The biggest of many tragedies about the first series of Batman films is that we never got to see Billy Dee Williams go from Harvey Dent to Two-Face.

13. No. 13 | How Much Do You Weigh?

    

    Notably absent from the Dark Knight films was Vicki Vale, but Christian Bale saves her anyway in this picture.

14. No. 14 | Do You Want to Know How I Got These Scars?

    

    Butcher Billy did a great job adding Heath Ledger to this photo, but I can't stop looking at the background thug's mustache. It's mesmerizing.

15. No. 15 | You Want to Get Nuts? C'mon. Let's Get Nuts

    

    Here's Michael Keaton's Batman giving Heath Ledger's Joker a nice stern talking-to.
