Pencil Shaving Portraits

When asked to create portraits of the contributors to an issue of Wallpaper* magazine, artist Kyle Bean sharpened up his pencils and then proceeded to draw nothing. Instead, he painstakingly arranged his pencil shavings to create these remarkable images. The images seem vibrant, and delicate — likely because a small breeze could destroy them. Impressive work to say the least.

Could have done the same portrait with a fraction of a pencil if it was used as it was intended, but, here’s to being unique.
