Who doesn’t love creepy Victorian gothic horror full of literary references? We certainly can’t get enough of it. Hopefully you can’t, either, because we’ve got some videos from the actors in the upcoming Showtime series Penny Dreadful, telling you all about the characters they play.
First up, we’ve got Vanessa Ives (above), who’s played by Eva Green. We still don’t know much about her character yet, other than that she’s some sort of spiritual medium and “the heart of Penny Dreadful.” Either way, she sure can rock a messy matron bun and a stiff upper lip.
Next is Josh Hartnett’s character, Ethan Chandler, an “American sharpshooter” with a troubled past. Normally, I’m not a big fan of Americans in my Victorian drama, but you know what? Gonna let this one slide, because violence and bowler hats are always a great combination.
Penny Dreadful premieres on Showtime at 10pm on Sunday, May 11. Best start gathering up all your witchcraft supplies and holy water now.
