Kashyyyk, the home of the formidable Wookie race, is a lush rainforest planet furnished here and there with the occasional swamp or coastal region. Most of the civilized life on the planet lived in canopies of Kashyyyk's enormous wroshyr trees. Only the hardiest of Wookies (like the legendary hero Chewbacca) ventured to the forest floor, a place of perpetual darkness and carnivorous plants.
OOC, Kashyyyk first appeared in the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, and, in early drafts, was the setting of the second half of Return of the Jedi. That's right. Somebody decided that Wookies were not cool enough, and replaced them with Ewoks. ಠ_ಠ
