Magrathea is the near mythical base of the ancient custom-made luxury planet industry in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Its last project was commissioned by a race of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings, who wanted a planet (our Earth) that was also a superlatively advanced computer in order to find the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe and Everything. Overall, it is considerably barren, inhabited only by the cryogenically frozen Magratheans, who will sleep until the galactic economy once again becomes prosperous enough to afford their service.
