The basic "worker" unit for the Horde in the Warcraft universe, the peon is nothing more than a slave. Without the peon, the Orcish empire would be nothing but bare land, yet they are are treated with derision. The peons work for the entirety of their lives, to the point where their body contorts to reflect a life of manual labor. Orcish lore would have you believe that peons posses a lower intelligence than the rest of their race, and so they aren't usually even aware of their situation, working day and night simply to appease their overlords.
So that makes it all right then. ಠ_ಠ
With the dawning of the new horde, more dedicated to carving out their own niche than carving niches out of other people, Warcheif Thrall has attempted to curb the abuse of peon workers, with middling success. Most older orcs still treat them as a sub-orcish caste. European peons, however, have one day of the year to call their very own. Peon Day, when fireworks vendors declare significant discounts, commemorates the end of the European Closed Beta for World of Warcraft.
