Tim Drake (now Tim Wayne) is the third person to become Robin, the Boy Wonder, and to be honest, he's really not all that awkward. His life, well, that's been a series of tragedies ever since he started the job. But he's on this list because of how he got the job in the first place.
See, Tim is a huge Batman fan. The biggest. The only "regular" person to figure out, on his own, that Batman was Bruce Wayne, and Robin was Dick Grayson. The other people on that list are folks like Ra's al Ghul and Bane, just to illustrate the kind of company that puts him in.
Tim figured it out but kept it to himself, content to simply scrapbook (ok, look, it was the 80's) and photograph and follow their adventures. That is until the second Robin was blown to bits by the Joker and Batman had a serious depressive episode.
Tim ran away from home, found Dick Grayson, dragged him to Wayne Manor and voiced the plea that many comic fans had been saying ever since Jason Todd was killed by a ridiculously close fan poll: "Batman needs a Robin." So that's why Tim is here. Not because he's particularly nerdy, but because of his role as the voice of Batman fans everywhere, and the role he continues to play in the comics as the widely assumed successor to Batman himself.
As soon as he's tall enough, that is.
