The Bugger Queen, a sentient and psychic pupa, waited three thousand years to become a mother. The only surviving queen of the Formic race after the xenocide commited by Ender Wiggin, she was cared for by Wiggin for a significant portion of his life. That lifetime was frequently spent travelling at near light speeds, hence the thousands of years between the conflict that wiped out her race, and her long awaited chance to begin again. Until Ender found a safe and hospitable place for her to lay her eggs, hatch her drones, and begin the first new hive, she spent a sense deprived hibernation, impatient for the day when her conciousness might range as far as her every living male descendant.
