This most famous of power-ups was first seen way back in 1990 with the release of Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo. About the same time, we figured out that plumbers could ride koopa-eating dinosaurs. Much like the Super Leaf that came before it, the Feather granted our portly friends the ability to fly great distances, float, and spin attack enemies into submission. It's only surprising that it took Nintendo so long to figure out the obvious application of the word "super" in their titles.
