Readers of Wildstorm comics were first introduced to Jenny Sparks as the leader of the Authority, the Wildstorm universe's Justice League. For the whole first story arc, one might be forgiven for assuming that her superpowers are simply being British and a bitch. Though we honestly would have been happy with that, Jenny is, in fact, the Spirit of the 20th Century, and her electrokinetic powers are hindered only by the size of the nearest city power grid.
But even that's not all there is to Jenny. On New Year's Eve, 1999, Jenny died at the age of 100, though she barely looked a day over 35. Her reincarnation, Jenny Quantum, is almost unimaginably powerful. I mean, there was that one time when she decided that being 8 years old was inconvenient, and so aged herself up to 14 overnight. Then there's the extradimensional city where all the past Jennies live: Jenny Sparks, Jenny Steam, Jenny Revolution, Jenny Inquisition, Jenny Stone, Jenny Fire, and others. Despite the fact that all the past Jennies have lived there for centuries, it did not exist in the timeline until its existence was needed by Jenny Quantum. As it took electricity a decade or two to become the defining advance of the 20th century, at this point no one is really sure what Jenny Quantum's powers are, or if they even have limits.
