Black Widow, A.K.A Natasha or Natalia Romanova, has appeared in several Marvel comics including Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Daredevil, and is best known for her dealings in espionage and memory loss. But what does she do?
A former Soviet spy, she is trained in several types of martial arts, marksmanship, and sophisticated weaponry, including her signature “Widow’s Bite” bracelets. When she was introduced, Black Widow didn’t have a costume as such and performed all her spy duties in a highly inefficient evening gown and veil. So, one non-super-superpower: being distractingly hot. Her costume later became a skin-tight black bodysuit equipped with suction cups, so she was still distractingly hot, but now a more appropriately named wall-crawler as well. In her current canonical origin story, she was an orphan recruited into the Russian Black Widow Ops program, where she was biotechnologically enhanced to withstand disease, injury, and aging, and also given a healthy dose of false memories. But basically, she was raised to be a lean, mean fiercely loyal killing machine.
