Just as they are in FFXIII, summons in the old-school JRPG FFIX were called "Eidolons" (which, in turn, is a return to FFIV lingo), and Titan, a longtime Final Fantasy favorite, was looking his best here. Part of what made him special is that you couldn't actually summon him directly: you had to summon Fenrir the wolf first, but when you did, your enemies were treated to a big helping of Terrestrial Rage.
