The title "Dame" might be an unlikely companion for geekery, but Dame Judi Dench won't let you put her into your little boxes, thank you very much. Sure, her Academy Award-winning portrayal of Queen Elizabeth in Shakespeare in Love may have won her the critical acclaim, but she never gets the credit she deserves for playing an air elemental in The Chronicles of Riddick. Fun fact: during the filming of the movie, she and fellow secret geek Vin Diesel would play Dungeons & Dragons late into the night. Also, you know that James Bond's boss M was always really supposed to be a woman, and Dench is the best M in the franchise, combining a stern exasperation with 007's shenanigans with real concern that her agent be OK.
