Unlike many directors -- paging Dr. Uwe Boll -- Rodriguez's work is marked by a reverence for his source material. Exhibit A: Sin City, which he not only invited author Frank Miller to co-direct, but which frequently replicates the noir comic series at a panel-by-panel level of detail.
